Hey guys! It’s been a long time! There are a lot of changes in my life and in my family’s life. For starters, I’m no longer a Navy wife. My husband is now a happy, full time civilian! The girls and I are extremely excited about this development. It’s been almost a year now that he’s been out, and it’s been an amazing, hard, healing time for us. When he first left, the girls and I had already moved to farm country in Washington state, and we loved it, so he looked for a job out there. He found a great job at Silgan Containers out of Toppenish, WA and it paid so well we wanted for nothing…and then we started to get lonely, raising and homeschooling two girls and working full time so far from our families, so we moved home to Oregon a few months ago and found ourselves unemployed for several weeks. That was hard to take! It seemed there was no place for a Navy Veteran down here, but we buckled down, put out applications everywhere and God pulled through for us! Anthony’s now gainfully employed and going to school full time. I’m still homeschooling our girls and loving that challenge.
What’s been the most fun is going back to the church where I grew up. It’s really neat to see our girls blooming under the Son there. So many of the people who’ve loved and supported me throughout my lifetime are still there, embracing my daughters now and that is truly special. On Sunday, one special young lady that I used to baby-sit fifteen years ago served me communion and I nearly bawled right there in church. It was such a special moment for the two of us.
There are so many things I’ve wanted to say, so many times I’ve wanted to sit down and type and share things, but we go through seasons, and some of those seasons require us to be active and alive in our pain, growth and healing. I feel blessed that I was able to do that and now…I’m back! I hope you’ll continue to come back and share in my journey.
